I See Trees of Green
We all know about our continued pollution of our atmosphere with CO2 and other noxious (to humans) gases. By don’t forget that trees breathe CO2, and as a result global greenery has flourished around the globe in the last 20 years. Despite the other horrible things we do, like deforestation of the Amazon rainforest and other places, global greenery has actually increased by 5% over the past two decades! Mother Nature again has surprised us by continually adapting and responding to this extra CO2 available.
There are a couple of other factors precipitating this increase in green-ness: – they being the major tree planting that has occurred in India and China, plus the reduction in Artic ice coverage. But it’s quite clear that we humans can claim the credit for this significant improvement.
What a wonderful world!
